Privacy & Security

SnapSort is designed with privacy in mind. When using AI categorization, images are sent to Google's Gemini API using your own API key for analysis. We don't store your images on our servers and we don't have access to your images or the analysis results. You have full control over your data through your own API key.

Your images remain on your local device. For AI categorization, images are sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis using your own API key, then organized locally. SnapSort doesn't store your images on our servers. The app reads from your specified folders and organizes them according to your preferences.

The Monitor Tab is a Pro feature that provides background monitoring and automatic organization. It continuously watches your specified folders and automatically categorizes new images as they arrive, providing a truly hands-off organization experience.

Yes! Custom categorization is available in SnapSort Pro. You can create your own categories and set up custom rules for how images should be organized, giving you complete control over your organization system.

SnapSort supports all common image formats including JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, GIF, and more. The AI can analyze and categorize images in any format that macOS can read.

SnapSort uses Google's Gemini AI, which is highly accurate at understanding image content. The categorization is typically very reliable.

Installation & Setup

macOS: Download the .dmg file, open it, and drag SnapSort to your Applications folder. On first launch, you may need to allow the app in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.

Windows: Download the .exe installer and run it to install SnapSort.

Linux: Download either the AppImage (run directly) or DEB package (install with package manager).

Visit the Google AI Studio (aistudio.google.com), sign in with your Google account, and create a new API key. Copy the key and paste it into SnapSort's settings. We provide step-by-step instructions in the app's setup wizard.

SnapSort requires macOS 12.0 or later (Intel x64 & Apple Silicon), Windows 10 or later, or Ubuntu 20.04+ / Debian 11+. At least 4GB of RAM and an internet connection for AI categorization are recommended.

This is normal for apps not distributed through the App Store. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and click "Open Anyway" next to SnapSort. You may need to right-click the app and select "Open" the first time.

Troubleshooting

Try processing smaller batches of images at a time, ensure you have a stable internet connection for AI processing, and close other resource-intensive applications. You can also adjust the processing settings in the app preferences.

AI categorization isn't perfect, but you can improve results by being more specific with your categories, reviewing and adjusting the organization before finalizing, and using custom categories in the Pro version for better control.

Check that your API key is correct and has sufficient quota, ensure you have a stable internet connection, and verify that your Google account has access to the Gemini API. You can also try regenerating your API key.

Pricing & Licensing

Visit our download page and click "Buy Pro" on the Pro version card. You'll be redirected to our secure payment processor. After successful payment, you'll receive your license key via email within minutes.

Open SnapSort and go to Settings > License. Enter your license key (sent to your email after purchase) and click "Activate". The app will verify your license and unlock all Pro features immediately.

Use the license retrieval form on our download page. Enter the email address you used for purchase, and we'll resend your license key. You can also contact our support team for assistance.

We offer refunds within 12 hours of purchase. If you're not satisfied with SnapSort Pro, please email us at sumitsnapsort@gmail.com within 12 hours of your purchase for a full refund. Refunds cannot be processed after this 12-hour window.
