Download the SnapSort.dmg file from our download page, open it, and drag SnapSort to your Applications folder. On first launch, you may need to allow the app in System Preferences > Security & Privacy since it's not from the App Store.
Visit the Google AI Studio (aistudio.google.com), sign in with your Google account, and create a new API key. Copy the key and paste it into SnapSort's settings. We provide step-by-step instructions in the app's setup wizard.
SnapSort requires macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later, at least 4GB of RAM, and an internet connection for AI categorization. The app works on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
This is normal for apps not distributed through the App Store. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and click "Open Anyway" next to SnapSort. You may need to right-click the app and select "Open" the first time.
Try processing smaller batches of images at a time, ensure you have a stable internet connection for AI processing, and close other resource-intensive applications. You can also adjust the processing settings in the app preferences.
AI categorization isn't perfect, but you can improve results by being more specific with your categories, reviewing and adjusting the organization before finalizing, and using custom categories in the Pro version for better control.
Check that your API key is correct and has sufficient quota, ensure you have a stable internet connection, and verify that your Google account has access to the Gemini API. You can also try regenerating your API key.
